Communi V3 Review
Communi V3 replaces the tools you're stacking and the fees you're paying

Hi, this is Hai Nguyen and welcome to my Communi V3 review.
I’ve been building online communities for a while now. And the plain truth is this: most creators end up paying monthly fees to platforms they don’t fully own. You pay Skool. Circle pays you. You pay Mighty Networks. And every month, that bill comes back, whether your community grows or not.
So I paid close attention when Communi V3 rolled out a one-time payment model. The promise is easy. Buy once, own your community space forever, don’t rent your audience from someone else.
I looked closely at the product, the marketing, and the claims. So here’s what I found, the good, the really useful and the part that needs a second look before you decide.
How Communi V3 Works And What Is Communi V3
Communi V3 is a full community platform created by Sam Bakker. It’s for creators, coaches, educators, consultants, course sellers and brands that want a branded place to build audience, host content, run events and make money all in one place.
The platform is pitched as a direct alternative to Circle and Skool — but with one big structural difference. Instead of paying a monthly subscription, you pay once and get access for life.
The basic idea is this:
• Your community is on a custom domain that you own. • No third party network – members join your branded community. • Host courses, run events, manage chats and sell access from one dashboard. • You take home 100% of the revenue, with no platform fees.
V3 is a ground-up rebuild of the original Communi platform, the vendor says. That means a brand new codebase, built around direct feedback from current users. The live product reveal event took place on May 14, 2026 and the public launch opened on May 21, 2026.
The platform was already there before V3. Previous versions had accumulated over 12,000 communities, 38,000 members and a 4.8-star Trustpilot rating. So it's not a new product from some unknown vendor. There’s real history here and that matters when judging whether a lifetime deal is worth trusting.
Who is Communi V3 for
Communi V3 is for a particular kind of buyer. This is not a spur of the moment purchase. The right buyer views it as business infrastructure, not a shiny new toy to play with for a week and then forget.
The platform is best for:
• Solo creators and coaches with a small to mid-sized audience. • For educators who want to offer courses and community in one location. • Membership site owners who want to control their brand and have a custom domain. • Consultants & Mastermind Leaders needing a clean professional community hub. • Businesses building an owned audience off of social media platforms.
Not a good fit for buyers who need the network effects of Skool where prospective members are already browsing and discovering communities. Communi doesn't have that kind of built-in discovery layer. You bring your audience with you. The platform equips you with the tools to serve and retain them.
Communi V3 Features and Their Functions
Community Spaces With Total Brand Control
The community space is at the heart of Communi V3. You have a branded environment where members can post, comment, interact and engage with one another. The big difference from Facebook Groups or Skool is that this space is on your own custom domain. When your community is on your domain the platform can't change the algorithm, cut your reach or close your group without warning. You have an audience.
Course Hosting Integrated Into the Same Platform
Course delivery tools are embedded within the same dashboard in Communi V3. You don’t need a separate hosting tool such as Teachable or Kajabi to host your training content. Members log in once, on one branded platform, to get to your courses and your community. That alone can justify the purchase price for many creators that are stacking monthly subscriptions .
Management of Events
The platform also has an events feature, so you can schedule and run live sessions, group calls, workshops and challenges within your community. Events are one of the best retention tools you have. People will be more engaged and feel more part of the group and you if there’s a reason to be there at a certain time.
Live chat
Communi V3 also has real-time chat along with the main community feed. Some members like posts to be public. Some like direct or group messaging. You get both options in one platform so you can serve different engagement styles without adding another tool to your stack.
Integrated Payments With No Transaction Fees
You can sell access to your community, your courses or your events directly through Communi. No transaction fees on your sales from the platform. That means every dollar your member pays goes to you (minus whatever your payment processor charges on their end). If you run a paid community at scale, those savings add up quickly.
Retention Mechanics and Gamification
Communi V3 has built-in gamification that encourages members to stay involved and keep coming back. Points, rewards, and engagement mechanics give members a reason to participate that goes beyond just reading posts. Members who are made to feel appreciated for their activity are more likely to stay longer, engage more & renew/upgrade.
Member Profiles & Activity Streams
Communi V3 has member profiles and activity streams. Profiles help members feel seen and recognized in the community. Activity feeds help give the space a sense of life and give members something to react to when they login. Seeing who is active and what is going on in the group makes the community feel real. It's that sense of presence that keeps people coming back.
Communi V3 Upgrade Funnel & Pricing
The pricing is structured as a single front end with three optional upgrades. You need to understand the full funnel before you buy anything.
| Tier | Price | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| Front End — Communi FE | $99 (Early bird: $79) | Core platform: community, custom domain, courses, events, chat, basic monetization |
| Upgrade 1 – Creator | $79 | Expanded monetization ability, improved publishing, engagement tools |
| Business Upgrade 2 | $199 | Team features, Advanced commercial controls, Bigger operations |
| Upgrade 3 – Accelerator | $47 per month or $397 annually | Advanced support, extended platform capability, recurring growth tools |
The headline message of Communi V3 is it is one payment no monthly fee That’s true for the front end. But the Accelerator upsell brings back a recurring charge. Before assuming that one payment covers the full experience, buyers should know.
What Marketing Does Right
The core value proposition is very compelling for the right buyer. For a creator spending $89-$99 a month on Circle or something similar, the cost of Communi’s front end can be paid back in one to two months. Then the savings are real and they are recurring. That’s over a thousand dollars put back in your pocket in a year.
The 4.8-star Trustpilot rating is verifiable and reflects genuine user feedback from prior versions of the platform. Sam Bakker is a known name in the digital product space, with a real track record. There are actual users, actual communities, and actual feedback for the product. That credibility is important when you are looking at a lifetime deal with a smaller vendor.
The all-in-one angle is also true. Replacing a community tool, a course tool, an events tool and a payment processor with one platform does reduce cost and operational complexity. For a busy creator, that simplification is of real value beyond the dollar savings.
What Marketing Plays Too Much
The comparison to Skool is the biggest reach of the entire campaign. Skool is more than software. It is a net work. A big part of Skool's value is the millions of people already on the platform, browsing communities and discovering new groups. Communi does not have this. You are buying a tool, not access to the network. Those are very different value propositions and misleading to make them seem comparable.
The framing of one payment forever also needs context. Lifetime deals are 100% dependent on the vendor’s ability to stay in business long term. If the company is under financial pressure, LTD users are often the first to receive reduced service, feature paywalls, or degraded support. You’ll see this documented trend across the SaaS industry.” This is not a criticism unique to Communi, but it is a real risk buyers should take into account.
The member numbers are also interesting. Marketing notes 12,000 active communities and 38,000 total members. But that works out to about 3.2 members per community. That's a very low ratio and suggests most communities on the platform are either dormant, very early stage or test setups. These numbers are used as social proof, but in reality they show little real engagement at scale.
Finally, the ground-up rebuild of V3 is exciting framing, but also means there were deep enough problems in previous versions to scrap them all together. Launch buyers are essentially taking on a new codebase. Early adopters are often faced with bugs, missing features and rough edges that are smoothed out over the next few months. Something to factor in, especially if you plan on relying on this as your main community infrastructure from day one.
Communi V3 vs Skool vs Circle: What's the real difference
Communi V3 wins vs Skool or Circle in one way only: cost structure. If you want to own your platform and not pay ongoing monthly fees, Communi wins that comparison hands down.
But on almost every other dimension Skool and Circle win. They have bigger and more active user bases. They have mature, battle-hardened infrastructure stress-tested at scale. They have better third-party integrations and more developed support ecosystems. And Skool specifically has a built-in discovery layer that can organically bring in new members to your community without you having to do any extra marketing.
Communi not Skool: the fair comparison. Communi is a fair comparison to a tool you will never own and have to pay monthly for. Communi does a very good job against that benchmark.

Final Verdict Should You Buy Communi V3?
Communi V3 is a real product, with a real use case, and a real audience. If you’re a creator, coach or educator paying monthly fees to a community platform and want to own your space and not rent it, this is worth serious consideration.
The front end $79-$99 is a fair price for what you get. The feature set is good. The brand ownership model is very valuable. And if you are a solo operator that doesn’t need the network effects of Skool, Communi hits the core needs well enough without a huge ongoing financial commitment.
My advice is simple. Buy it for what it really is, an affordable, capable community platform that gives you ownership and no monthly fees. Don’t buy it expecting a Skool replacement, or a fully mature enterprise-grade tool. Go in with clear expectations, and Communi V3 is good value for the right buyer.
The Bottom Line:
If your main goal is to stop paying monthly fees and begin owning your community space, Communi V3 is a smart and well-timed move.
